As this year ends and a new year begins, we all begin to think of what we want to accomplish in the new year. We begin to make New Year’s resolutions and try our best to stick with them. Sometimes we resolve to accomplish the same things each year: lose weight, self-improvement, quit smoking, better financial decisions, the list goes on. Unfortunately, it is estimated about 50% of persons fail their resolutions after 3 months and 60% after 6 months. That’s because it’s easy to set objectives but difficult to achieve them. However, I’ll share a few tips that have helped me accomplish my New Year’s goals.
Fall brings with it many opportunities to spend time with our family. It may be getting too cool for the beach in some areas, but you get to enjoy beautiful autumn leaf colors, different fruits and vegetables and let’s not forget: football!
Summer brings so many wonderful opportunities: summer vacation, trips, sun tans, cool treats, having fun in the sun! Unfortunately, the hot weather also brings natural disasters such as hurricanes, tsunamis and tornadoes. How can you make sure that you and your family are prepared? Does the bible offer any practical advice to help you before, during and after a natural disaster? Let’s dig into these lifesaving scriptural gems!
Is it me or does it appear as though the price on everything goes up when a natural disaster is approaching? Along with price increases, when going into home improvement or grocery stores for storm supplies, there are either only a few items remaining, or nothing left on the shelves!
I have found that there are many things that we can do to prepare for a disaster before and after a storm while on a strict budget. Most things can be done ourselves using items found right in our homes.
